Vallirana is a town located in Baix Llobregat. It belongs to a quiet residential area, surrounded by nature and with easy access to services and shops. It is only 25km from Barcelona and El Prat Airport. It belongs to one end of the "Sierra d'Ordal" and is located in the interior of the Garraf massif, between the municipalities of Ordal and Cervelló.

This town is surrounded by mountains and forests, with a wide range of cultural, sports and leisure activities. Historically Vallirana in the Middle Ages, the first preserved document of Vallirana is in the year 904 that talks about the donation of the chapel of San Silvestre of the bishop. Theodoric of Barcelona to the Abbey of Sant Cugat, Vallirana is mentioned for the first time in the cartulary of Sant Cugat, year 949, when the monk Odil donates to the Abbey of Sant Cugat some vineyards of Cervelló located exactly in an area called "Valleriana".

In contemporary times, the construction of the N-340, known as the road to Catalonia, brought about one of the greatest changes in the history of Vallirana. In 1787, construction began on the side of the road, called Barcelona Street. In 1804 the new church was inaugurated, as the previous one was too far away from the new town centre. This led to the construction of houses around the church, giving rise to the first perpendicular street in Vallirana, and later the street of the river.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the village became a paradise for bourgeois families from Barcelona who came to spend the summer, due to the tranquillity of the village and its proximity to Barcelona. From that decade onwards, Vallirana's demographic growth accelerated due to the exodus of the population from the south of Spain. Blocks of flats began to be built and construction companies appeared, such as Interclub and Selva Negra, which were responsible for the construction of the first housing estates.

At present, the B-24 and N-340 are fast access roads to the town.

The cava fair is held during the month of June, with the intention of recovering the wine tradition in Vallirana, which has been degraded, as well as favouring trade. Locally produced wines and cavas are served in a marquee on the Rambla de la Sobirania. There are also other activities such as concerts and children's activities.
